The GSM Alphabet

When sending SMS text messages over the internet, you should keep in mind that SMS are limited to certain characters. While some handsets support a wide range of charsets, it’s best to limit your messages to characters you can be sure your recipient can read. What’s even worse though is that certain networks and gateway provider won’t support the full range of characters. Depending on when you send where, you might encounter difficulties with characters being deleted from your text messages or transformed into funny signs. Dreamfabric has a more interesting overview also covering ISO codes.
